Classes

Classes meet once a week for three hours, with additional workshop times available. Classes are small and consist of students of all levels of expertise.

At the studio, we will explore the many possibilities of working with clay. Instruction is based on the needs of individual students. For some, we will work on basic techniques of hand-building or throwing on the wheel. Others with more experience will develop and refine their skills, explore expressing ideas and feelings in their work. Students will work with stoneware clay, glazes, slips and stains, and will learn to prepare glazes.

There will be demonstrations, discussions of other artists and historical works. We will consider issues of form, aesthetics and meaning in our work.
